Forskningsgruppens primære område er perifere neuropatier, neuropatiske smerter og myastenia gravis. Formålet med forskningen er at forbedre diagnostik og behandling af de anførte tilstande. Der udføres klinisk epidemiologiske undersøgelser, klinisk kontrollerede undersøgelser og mekanismebaserede undersøgelser. Gruppen samarbejder med basalforskere mht dyreeksperimentelle studier indenfor området vedrørende perifere neuropatier. Gruppen har speciel interesse indenfor farmakologisk behandling af perifere neuropatiske smerter, diagnostik og ætiologisk udredning af polyneuropatier, samt behandling af immunmedierede neuroptier.

The primary focus of the research group is peripheral neuropathies, neuropathic pain and myastenia gravis. The aim of the research is to improve the diagnostic process and treatment of the conditions. The research group carries out clinical epidemiological, clinically controlled and mechanism-based studies. The group collaborates with researchers within basic science on animal experimental models of peripheral neuropathy. We have a special interest for pharmacological treatment of peripheral neuropathic pain, the diagnostic process in polyneuropathy and its etiology, and treatment of immune mediated neuropathies
